Such a classic spring day!

It's the end of March so today's weather had all the usuals: rain, sun, sprinkles, and a little slushy hail. It has rained every day for the last week and will continue to do so through the next.
Below:  monochrome sky this morning.
The tulips and daffodils love all this rain.
Vinca climbing on the rocks, already blooming!
Below: I love these little guys, I've looked them up numerous times and never can remember what they are.  I like em.
They have FILLED the raised bed! Luckily, they die back on their own, once it gets warm. The bed will be ready for tomatoes and sweet peas soon enough. I consider them a pretty cover crop.

My weather station actually says "it's raining cats 'n dogs."

Rainy rain rain.  Then rain and rain, plus a little more rain. Rain north, rain south. Rain east and rain west.  Rain. Rain on flowers, rain in yard, rain in street rain rain. Giant puddles of rain. Cats not happy with rain. Over half an inch by noon today, and more coming. Frogs are very happy and loud by the pond. Rain continues.

Below:  the sky around 11:00 a.m.

Dark sky.

Water is pooling everywhere in our saturated back yard.

First blooming tulip in deer-proof cage with little fir tree.

Tulips saying "what me worry?" They love rain!

Happy bulbs along front fence.

Daffodils getting a little heavy with rain.

Happy tulip under the eaves.

Apple blossoms and rain

Pretty apple blossoms ready to burst open.

Our pond is pretty full now!  We had about a half inch of rain yesterday and already a third of an inch today at 11:15 am!

The views to the northwest. Raindrop or UFO
on my camera upper left.

Rain for the next week

It's been glorious for several days, warm and sunny.
First apple blossoms below.

Little hummingbird on top of the cedar tree.

Then it started looking like this.

Today, everything is wet and drippy.  Toby doesn't mind.

Pretty day and warm too! Can't beat that!

The day started with frost and by 10:30 it looked like this! Note the treetop visitor.

Strawberries are starting to come back after winter.

Pre-frontal day with sun and big clouds coming in

Our pond has many life forms in it now.  Note the big clump of developing frog eggs on stick.

Pretty Sunday morning sky with apple branches in foreground.

On our hike up Bland Mountain, this is what it looked like to the west.  Wet weather is coming in from the coast.

Pretty things everywhere.

This sweet little garter snake had been sunning himself on the rocks until we came along.

Looking west from Bland Mountain.

Later in the afternoon.

Looking south.

Spring clouds

We've had two gorgeous sunny warm days, but I think that is about to end.  Look what's coming in!

So darned pretty! Note the apple leaf buds emerging.

I think this sky looks just like turbulent ocean.

Maybe tie dye?

Rain rain rain

The skies were very dark this morning around 11:00! The whole house seems dark inside, even with lights on.  Feels like dusk.

The pond is full, the yard is a swamp. Birds are delighted
with all the floaty worms, the frogs are in their element.
