Day after Thanksgiving

More beautiful Glendale skies today, even after .68 inches of rain this morning.

Ominous clouds to the southwest.

Hard working weather station under darkening skies.

Variegated vinca provides a welcome flower.

A wonderfully grey Thanksgiving.

Doesn't get much greyer than this morning.

Very little color is visible anywhere, all is greyed out.

The pond, seconds before another downpour of rain.

Grey grey and grey!  The reason I say it is wonderfully grey?  The rest of the nation is suffering horrible cold and snowstorms, delayed travel and freezing temperatures. We bask in 50+ degrees with nice rain.

Sunsets and chevron skies

Beautiful patterns adorned the skies in the morning.

My wonderful husband took these first three pretty shots.

Ooh and ahhh!

We are not the only ones with beautiful sunsets, these two photos are courtesy of my wonderful pal Susie in the Sunset district of San Francisco.

Beach Trip

It seems a shame to leave home when it's this pretty a day!

Half blue, half clouds.

Cape Blanco lighthouse with a rare blue sky background.

Salal grows wonderfully at the coast, flowering in November.

Below:  a variety of pretty shots from my hike on the bluffs.

A rare blue sky at the Oregon coast.

Nice easy trail.

This beautiful trail was heaven to walk on, soft squishy grass for half a mile.

More little wonders in November.

This guy was the only visible life form on the huge beach north of the Blanco lighthouse.

Huge waves breaking over rocks held my attention for a long long time.  I could watch that all day.

Classic pretty sunset.

Pastel sky and a whale looking rock.

Time to go home.  It's getting cold now.

Rocky Sue

Rocky helped build the cat coop last year. She always liked to be "shop kitty" and supervise any projects.

Here's Rocky napping on the deck earlier this week.
At nearly 18, Rocky took a nap on her favorite blanket Monday and didn't wake up.
Words can not say how much we love and miss her.

It's a Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood.....

Here's a still photo from my new webcam,
showing our little cedar and Dollar Mountain,
Panther Butte off in the distance.

My Wunderground weather cam is live!

Here's a snapshot from the cam at night,  the rain drops show up as lines, apple tree in background.

Not bad for November.

Beautiful sky today.

The pond is full.

Our nameless mountain to the north.

Toby shreds the old bench.  It is out there for this purpose, but we tell the kitties "no no don't shred the bench" just to keep it fun.

Mild day, not much weather.

Our little redwood tree with blue and white sky above.

These weeds are everywhere in Glendale,
very pretty and quite hard to pull!

Blue and white sky above pampas fronds.

Our nameless hill north of town.

Iceplant keeps going.

November 1st.

More clouds.....

Toby walking on the newly green grass.
Two weeks ago this was brown straw! Lester and Happy in background.

Gratuitous Lester picture.

Clouds over the unnamed hill.

Happy Appleton by the pond.

Spot chews on pampas grass and makes a face.

Hard working weather station faces monumental clouds.

A blue hole opens up in the clouds.

 Ocho and reflections.

Kit on the green grass, averting his eyes from the camera as usual.

Spot under the little apple tree.

Tricky deftly climbs on the rocks.

Oh yes these did make rain.
