Snow!

Lots of little birds in our backyard, keeping the cats totally entertained.

Dollar Mountain barely visible today.

The sky really is white.

Trusty weather station braves the snow.

Fat snowflakes falling.

 Backyard is a winter wonderland.

An odd angle view of the pond, bamboo and pampas grass.  Looks pretty bedraggled.

Every window is like a big screen tv for kitties, the birds are cavorting nonstop out there in the snow.

Full moon today.

Here's the full moon with streetlight in San Francisco, early this morning.  Photo thanks to my early-rising friend Susie!
Beautiful sky a few nights ago in Glendale.
 Always dramatic skies.
Dollar mountain with massive cloud bank behind.
Our house with massive cloud bank overhead.
 Trusty weather station in action.
 Yesterday morning.
Nasturtiums last hurrah, they will wilt with the coming freeze.
Pond is pretty much full, ready for frogs.

Sunny Glendale morning.

It doesn't get any prettier than this!  Deep green Dollar Mountain looks gorgeous with contrasting golden trees in the foreground.

Our pond is nearly full, thanks to some recent rains.

I think I see white clouds or fog there to the southwest. I must be imagining it. Things are not likely to look so pretty after this coming week's snow. The pampas blooms will get all bedraggled and the bamboo will be heavy and bent into the pond. Fleeting fall beauty.

The trusty weather station keeps tabs on all weather.  It was all I could do to keep the wisteria from attacking it this summer, it kept winding its way up the pole and ALMOST into the weather station.  Silly wisteria, I'd like it to go any other direction.

Sunset from Bodega Bay this evening.

Beautiful photos courtesy my great pal Susie, taking a little vacation in Bodega Bay.

When in Bodega Bay, one must remember the REAL stars of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds."

First snow

Snow and fog on top of our Dollar Mountain.  Ok I must admit winter is coming. Darn! Photo courtesy my wonderful husband.

Fall color beautiful photos courtesy my wonderful husband.

Hillside to our north, glorious in sun and fog.

Gorgeous red trees by the elementary school.

Even Trees Inc. can't ruin the beauty of this tree, they have cut away many branches but it is spectacular anyway.  I say put your power lines underground and stop butchering trees.

This spectacular photo doesn't do this tree justice, it is radiant and fantastic!

Cat with bark.

October is winding down.

Glendale has amazing skies every month of the year.

One of our last praying mantis girls, just after laying her eggs.  She seems exhausted.

Another praying mantis, it's getting a bit cool for them.  It won't be long and they will be gone for the year.  Very sad. I am so happy to see the new ones every spring.

Feels like fall.

Pretty skies a few days ago, before rain.

A mantis in our yard is feeling the cold.  She probably just layed eggs, and won't be around much longer. I enjoy their company so much in the yard, I will miss her.

We still get fantastic blue skies in October!

Another little mantis. I have come to really love these little guys.

Best sunset ever.

This sunset is so spectacular it almost looks like fire.

All these photos are taken from our yard.

Pampas grass in the foreground, trumpet vine and bamboo behind.

This sunset just kept getting better and better!

Hard working weather station.

Ok, it's official.  Glendale skies are the best anywhere.
